According to Pythagoras there are four phases of life and souls. Frammartino\u00b4s film beautifully shifts from an elderly goatherd (human) to the birth of a goat (animal) to a fir tree (vegetable) which eventually turns into charcoal (mineral). Through this unusual tender and still essay we discover the poetic journey of life through time and space in a remote village in Calabria \u2013 funny, dramatic and meditative.<\/p>\n
