“It’s the chill grandeur of his images, and the mystical note in his rueful conclusion, that will linger in your mind.” Guardian
Captain John Noel’s incredible 1924 account of George Mallory and Andrew Irvine’s ultimately tragic third attempt on Mt. Everest. Noel used a hand cranked camera to capture the savage beauty of the Himalayas under almost intolerable conditions managing to capture the vulnerability and courage of men laying assault to the ultimate challenge of the time.
“The sequences in Nepal before the climb, of daily life among the Sherpas and their families, are of rare and magical ethnographic value.” Telegraph
