“Good laugh picture with Buster Keaton” Variety
(1928)
Keaton’s last great film has him playing a New York street photographer with ambitions to be an MGM newsreel cameraman and win the heart of Sally, who is of course in love with someone else. With some of his most wonderful comic moments, and aided by his monkey side-kick, this is the film that finally wrecked his career. With live music from Terry Davies.
This screening is part of Scalarama, a nationwide celebration of cinema that takes place every September, and which has an aspiration to fill the land with cinemas. We’re happy to be doing our bit to do just that….
