In a Russian coastal town, Kolya, a hot tempered car mechanic, is forced to fight the corrupt mayor when he is told that his house is to be demolished to make way for a telecommunication mast. This surprisingly frank and uncompromising thriller from Russia with its brooding imagery and Philip Glass soundtrack offers an unsettling insight into the modern day machinations of the Russian state.
