Starring Emma Bolger as an enchantingly down to earth Heidi, this beautiful film will fascinate a younger to mid-range audience of children with its depiction of life for the inhabitants of a lonely mountain in long-ago Switzerland. The dramas in orphaned Heidi’s life are sensitively handled, with a refreshing lack of whimsy – and adults will love the incredible Alpine scenery, and Max von Sydow as the grandfather.
