"A magical enduring classic, to be seen again and again." Philip French

In rural post war France, Orphée is a successful but disillusioned poet who becomes entranced by Death in the form of a dark Princess. After the Princess has his wife Eurydice killed, Orphée descends through a mirror portal into the Underworld to rescue her. This is a film about magic and enchantment where startling special effects create a truly dreamlike atmosphere.
