“For me, the film is like music or a landscape: It clears a space in my mind, and in that space I can consider questions.” Roger Ebert

Berlin 1987. Two angels, Damiel and Cassiel, invisibly wander through the divided city. They see, listen to and witness people’s thoughts, conversations and behaviours. When Damiel meets the aerial acrobat Marion he falls in love and wants nothing more than to swap his ethereal immortality for the true feelings of life itself.

“It’s mystical, it’s exuberant in what it preaches, powerful in its cast and message, and comforting with its hopeful theme that brings us all together.” Michael Goleniewski
